The Comprehensive Oral and Radiographic Evaluation procedure requires veterinary professionals to use specific instruments for the oral examination and charting process and more detailed cleaning above and below the gum line. Benita Altier LVT, VTS (Dentistry) specially curated this pack to ensure you have the most valuable and well-made instruments all put into a pack that is not only durable, color-coded, and autoclavable but also leads to becoming more organized; instruments are secured and protected while in the pack.
- These instruments are handcrafted in New Zealand, except for the dental mirror, which is made in the USA by Zirc™ Dental Products.
- There is a 5-year manufacturer’s guarantee on the stainless steel hand instruments.
- These instruments are responsibly manufactured through a unique recycling program of using stainless steel for the handles from used dental instruments.
- The blades of each scaler or curette instrument are made from surgical-grade stainless steel to facilitate a sharp edge for precise and effortless cleaning.
- The handles are ideal in diameter and texture to ensure an ergonomic grip.
- The Zirc™ Dental Products EZ-Jett 8-Place instrument holder comes in several colors and is autoclavable.
- It holds 8 instruments, and the attached cover ends fold back easily.

The Pawsitive C.O.R.E. Dental pack contains:
- Zirc™ Dental Products Crystal HD #4 Soft Grip Mirror
- UNC-15/23 Probe-Explorer- carefully crafted with a finer and more rounded tip for use in animals. “The ideal diagnostic instrument.”
- Jacquette Scaler: Curved and straight ends: Great for larger tooth crown surface areas, with the advantage of a more rigid shank to handle those heavier deposits and delicate areas without tremendous effort or force. Supragingival use only.
- Miniature scaler: Morse 0-00: This scaler is great for use in cats and small dogs. The shank is more rigid to ensure it works on heavier deposits that we often see in dog and cat patients, supragingival only.
- Universal Curette: Columbia 13/14- The modifications to a human type of curette are in the more rigid shank to avoid excessive efforts or the “bounce” that can happen when using this curette on heavier deposits in shallow pockets. Intended for larger tooth surfaces areas and subgingival use in wider-shallow pockets.
- Universal Curette: Barnhart 5/6-this instrument designed specifically for use in veterinary patients is intended for light to medium deposits and subgingival use. This curette has a semi-rigid shank. Having two-blade edges on each end, it is a perfect addition to your instrument pack.
- Gracey Curette: Standard, subgingival use for root planing and curettage. The shank is more flexible, allowing for delicate use below the gingival margin. The blade is one-sided (opposite on each end) at 70 degrees, with the standard having a curved working face of 5.6mm or 0.231 (15/64) inches and a blade width of 0.8mm or 0.034 (1/32) inches at the tip.
- Gracey Curette: Miniature, subgingival use for root planing and curettage, and the shank is more flexible for delicate use. The miniature Gracey has a curved working face of 4mm or 0.158 (5/32) inches, a blade width of 1.8mm or 0.042 (5/128) inches, and a terminal shank length of than11.25mm or 0.444 (57/128) inches.
