About Me

Benita Altier LVT, VTS (Dentistry)

Benita Altier began her career in veterinary technology in 1988. She has worked in small animal general practices in avian medicine, including birds of prey, canine, equine, and llama neonatal care and reproduction, as well as ophthalmology and dental specialty practice.

Benita earned her board certification through the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians by examination in 2008 and began her business, Pawsitive Dental Education LLC, in 2009. Through educating the professionals, she has impacted the lives of many more animals than she could ever do in practice.She is very passionate about helping veterinary professionals learn how to perform dentistry procedures efficiently, proficiently, and safely!

Washington State Veterinary Medical Association

The “Distinguished Veterinary Staff” award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond the expected responsibilities of the practice to provide outstanding client and patient service. The nominating veterinarian must be a member of the WSVMA

Excellence In Dentistry Education Award

This award is open to VTS-Dentistry first, then secondly to other supporters of AVDT. Persons within the field can nominate potential candidates for this award, and self-nominations will be accepted.
Nominations must include at least two people connected to the nominee to serve as a reference if needed.
